“Average annual hours actually worked per worker”: This a report by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). The concept used is the total number of hours worked over the year divided by the average number of people in employment. In 2013, the average annual hours actually worked per worker were as follows: Greece 2037, Germany 1388, United Kingdom 1669, USA 1788. So, this is the truth: the Greeks work harder than the Americans, the British, and the Germans. Only the Mexicans (2237 average annual hours actually worked per worker) and the Koreans (2163 average annual hours actually worked per worker in 2012) work harder than the Greeks. What is more, the people from the Netherlands (1380 average annual hours actually worked per worker) and the Germans are the “laziest” workers in the world!
